Empowerment for Poverty Reduction & Wealth creation
To contribute to the attainment of SDG-1, VWI thrives to empower women and youths in rural and peri-urban communities by increasing their household income through Sustainable Livelihoods and Micro Enterprise Development. Through Income-Generating Activities (IGAs) VWI is helping lift people out of poverty by providing them with sustainable sources of income.
Good Health and Well-being
To achieve SDG-3, VWI focuses on improving primary health care and mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS, communicable, and non-communicable diseases for women, youth, OVCs, and PLWHA. Efforts include universal access to sexual and reproductive health services, integrating reproductive health into national strategies, and providing clean water and sanitation in schools and communities.
Inclusive and Quality Education
For SDG-4 to be attained, VWI contributes to the improvement of the provision of care, support and access to basic education for Orphans and vulnerable Children in schools and communities and vocational training for women and youths by ensuring that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education; and skills for women and youths, leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes.
Gender Equity
VWI is working hard to increase the promotion of Gender equity and equality and women participation in governance and decision making at local level, to contribute to the attainment of SDG-5.
Good Governance
Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions are vital to attain SDG–16; VWI Promotes peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provides access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.
Environmental Management
Combating Climate Change and its impacts to attain SDG-13; VWI is working with communities and other stakeholders in the Management, Regeneration and protection of Waste, Forest, Soil and Rivers
